Moses and Jeremiah

Moses starts with compassion; “He went out to his people and looked on their burden”

Jeremiah kept preaching God’s word thru all his experience. He carried within himself the sorrow God for his people.

Christ in the desert and the sermon the mount

Christ only a pattern but the power to overcome temptation

Stones -> bread, about proving oneself jumping from temple, about spectacle
But we can flip it around in lazyness and do nothing “God will provide” 3rd and worst: lure of power, riches, and glory

Beattitutes: Radical mercy: Blessed as are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
