Dungeon Crawler Carl Series
Dungeon Crawler Carl
Book 1 of 10
Interesting story. Intriguing characters
Excellent voice acting.
Funny and dark alternately. Mostly does this well (but some awkward transitions).
Interesting political/social commentary.
- Gladiator entertainment
- Abuse of wealth
But incredibly vulgar, gratuitous.
Carl’s Doomsday Device
Book 2 of 10
Still entertaining. Mordecai the guide fleshed out more.
Hints this will not shape up to be the standard dungeon crawl. (With Carl advocating revolution on an outside world etc.)
At the end Carl somehow creates the Doomsday device (clearly a Checkov’s gun.)
Still vulgar, maybe less so, but maybe that’s because I read it instead of listened to it. (Ebook came from the library same day I bought the audiobook on Audible.)
The Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook
Book 3 of 10
Vocab: fulvous: dull orange e48400
various colors like zomp (cyan) which are really just paint company’s colors (maybe somewhat of a cheat)
The tube system has the appearance of a mystery but doesn’t really let you figure it out.
Interesting themes of NPCs and the Cookbook Carl receives
