Chapter 4

• Sanctification
  • abstain from sexual immorality
• 4.6 The Lord is the avenger (kinsman redeemer) of wrongs. Compare OT where God is the protector/avenger of the widow and orphan, those who have none.
• Brotherly love
• 4.11 Live a quiet life, work with your own hands.
• Hope of the resurrection.

Chapter 5

• Jesus’ coming will be unannounced
• Keep watch
• Respect and honor those who work
• Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing.
